It very looks like “magic smoke” evidence to me but okay, next thing then is I’m still no closer to knowing why it won’t run the drain pump?

All the help and suggestions are very much appreciated though guys!

its not smoke, see it all the time around high voltage components and these are operating at 300v DC

to be able to look up the part number i will need all the numbers on the label inside the door

    Dave,

Thanks, to ensure accuracy I’ve taken a pic of the label.

well part number i get is
    49025085

looked around and cant see it
you could email the site shop to see if they can supply

    alternatively

    try https://www.qer.biz/servReps.htm

see if they can repair it

that number does not help. the part no above should be correct for your serial and model you just need to either get it repaired or find someone with stock or at least a price first

I found one at a company called Ransomspares for £118, does that sound about right?

i would ask the site shop and hoover themselves. some internet sites inflate the price

after all if hoover dont have stock then nobody can get it anyway

Don’t think those small Chinese modules are anywhere near that price. Would advise checking the wiring plug very carefully and check for leakage from where the soap inlet hose is slotted into the drum. You will need to peel back the door seal to check.
