    Hi All

We have one of the above and generally use it on the same programme most of the time. Occasionally (at a guess 1 in 9 washes) it isn’t taking the tablets properly from the drawer. It appears to get them a bit wet, but thats about it. All other times its fine. I’ve removed the drawer surround and none of the moulded channels are blocked

Any ideas? All help greatly appreciated!!!

    Thanks

    Paul

The hot water is used to flush the detergent into the drum, poor hot water pressure will leave the detergent damp in the drawer.

first thing to check is the small filter to the hot valve, it can sometimes get gunged up. Turn off the hot water, remove hose from back of washer and the fine mesh filter is just inside the valve, if it is mucky then clean with an old toothbrush or similar.

At the same time put the hot pipe into a bowl or bucket and turn water supply on to check on the flow of hot water. If the machine is plumbed in with self plumbing taps these can often block up slowly over time.

If the hot pressure is low and you cannot improve it then place the tablet or tablets at the back of the drum before loading the clothes.

    Jim.

    Thanks very much!

    Will give it a go.

If nothing found I’ll get Hotpoint out as its still under warranty…sometimes easier to just fix little things yourself though isn’t it 😉

Especially if it turns out to be your plumbing that is at fault, Hotpoint would be within their rights to charge you. 😉
