Due to the cold fill only machines I would say a good 60 to 80 percent of houses I go to haven’t had the hot valve capped.

I was wondering if there had been many insurance claims due to hot valves leaking or accidentally being knocked on?

My thought is that if it is an issue with insurance companies would there be any mileage in the insurance companies using repairs@ to inspect and cap the valve(s) where necessary. (at an agreed price).

Firstly we would need to establish there to be a big enough problem caused by the uncapped valves.

    Any thoughts?

    Hi Tim

If we come across this scenario our guys will advise and supply / fit one while they are on site and charge the customer a couple of quid for the pleasure.

If we install a new machine we automatically fit them now at no extra cost. after all they only cost pence, so why not 😉

scares me to see houses that dont have them and kids and pets running around. cap them and save a small fortune in insurance claims for the householder 😉 but in this day and age its one small problem against many
