ParticipantCan anyone help please.
Hotpint Condenser Tumble Dryer TC71 keeps Cutting Out after a few seconds (5 – 20 seconds). It’s been fine since new( 1 year old) but now cuts out. If I press the start button it starts fine for about 5 – 20 seconds then stops or sometimes If I press the start button and hold it in it starts, but if I release my finger off the button it stops. I suspect some sort of thermal cutout problem maybe?? but I’m not sure where to look or what to look for to replace! From cold it’ll run for about 30 seconds before stopping.
The machine itself is all clean……filter’s clean, condenser cartridge is clean, water collector is empty. I have removed the side panels and given it a good vacuum inside.
Anything else ermm….It blows hot as normal. It’s been on most of the day, but that’s not unusual, it’s been fine.
I’m quite capable of replacing the faulty component it’s just knowing what is at fault. Motor, switch, etc.
Any help would be most appreciated. Thank you.

The fault on this unit is the relay that holds the dryer on until the door is opened or the power is turned off. Labelled Schrack. If you wish to take a look remove the Mains plug from the socket first.

Got the order thanks.
I’ll send it 1st class (you just caught our last despatch run) and hopefully it will arrive tomorrow as you asked, but I won’t guarantee it being late in the day and the time of year 😉

Dont forget label or make a note of which wires go where, after pulling the mains plug of course!

I also have the same problem but have a ‘Crusader’ (no model number) condensing tumble dryer. This is a chepo dryer but the unserviceable relay that was in it was a Schrack RM505730. Could you tell me if the Whitegoods link above will be the same one? Only, after looking at the second link provided, the picture had the contacts in a different configuration. Please can you email me at: dusty911@hotmail.com
I will also keep on checking the site just in case.
Many thanks,

Crusader is a name used by Hotpoint/Creda, so the relay will be one of theirs. The model number is normally on the control panel, on a label around the door opening and on a label on the back.I regret we won’t be able to give you an exact part number/price etc without it.

Hi guys,
sorry to hi-jack the topic, but I also have the same problem – this time with a Creda condenser dryer (not got the exact model) but it seems to be the same part: Schrock RM505730 with details….230v/16a 400v 1hpDid an internet search – found this q&a with the same problem, brill 😀 , but now can’t find the part in your e-shop
Please don’t tell me you don’t stock it any more? 🙄

Hi
Is it possible to confirm if the link provided above still points at a suitable replacement for the Schrack RM505730?
I have a Hotpoint TDC30 which has the same cutting out problem detailed above and which we have had to operate by holding the button in with gaffer tape, which is neither safe nor ideal 🙁
Thanks in advance
