HI THERE FOLKS,FIRST POST FROM ME ANYWAY I HAVE A JOB FOR A DC27 SLIMLINE DISHWASHER THAT STARTS WASHING FOR ABOUT 2 MINS THEN STOPS BUT YOU CAN THEN SMELL THE HEATER STARTING TO HEAT UP THEN A BURNING SMELL BUT NO CIRC PUMP ACTION. THE WASHER IS A MERLONI ONE WHICH ALTHOUGH THAT MEANS IT A LUMP OF DOO DOO IT IS EASIER TO GET IN TO THE WORKINGS AT THE BOTTOM(6 SCREWS) ALSO NO LIMESCALE MARKINGS ON THE BASEPLATE AND THE CIRC PUMP LOOKS FINE SO IM A BIT MIFFED,ANY IDEAS?

Could be a circ pump cutting out, i think you need to get some meter leads on the pump and check if its getting a feed when it cuts out.

ps. welcome to the forum, no need to SHOUT 😉

Hi checked that,no power down there but as soon as you reset the program it empties out fine, then when you select a program it does exactly the same thing again ie drain, fill wash for 90 secs then stops then you can hear the heater and smell burning. its got me!!!

Are you actually getting circulation in that 90 seconds? If it does pump and then cut out it would suggest that the motor cut-out is operating OR perhaps the relay on the board is suffering?

    Strip down and inspect time.

    Regards,
    Chris.

If you have got no feed to the circ pump then I guess it must be a control module fault. Wasnt there a story the other day about Indesit versions of these catching fire?

Had one of these perform in strange ways last year & it took a few visits to get the prob’,, i eventually found a fault at the mains filter, where the supply cable came in ( bad connections) not able to function on full load current but would fill!
