ParticipantWe have a Hotpoint Aqualtis 1600 RPM 8kg (the brown one). It has been in storage for about a year and half or possibly longer.
When we set it back up and filled it, and activated it by running a 90C wash, the machine worked fine.
However, it then developed this weird problem. The machine first displayed an error message scrolling saying “the washing machine is blocked” However, the machine had successfully emptied!
Checked the filter, nothing in it and the pump seems to be rotating normally.
Anyway, assumed it was just a glitch perhaps because it had been dried out for so long.
Ran another wash, and when it got to the drain part of the cycle after the main wash the pump started and the machine kept switching on/off and behaving very weirdly.
The drum would attempt to rotate, all lights go off, it would stop. Drum light briefly came on, then the machine would attempt it again.. it started just pulsing on and off!
Any idea what this could be?
The machine was stored as follows:
Ran a 90C wash cycle. When that was finished, removed the filter and the drawer and left it open. It was stored like that, and developed no mould at all.
I’m hoping it hasn’t been damaged in transport (it was moved with the transit bolts in)
Could it be some kind of a pressure switch error? or, a faulty pump or what?
I’m hoping it’s not the PCB!

I should have put that in the initial post, but I was not at home when posting.
It’s a Hotpoint Aqualtis AQGD 169 S

Tested it again, and noticed another problem – It won’t spin past about 800RPM, although I think perhaps that might just be a question of adjusting the feet as I think it was slightly off balance.
They really didn’t make it easy to adjust the level of the machine when (as is usually the case) it’s installed under a counter. The only two adjustable feet are at the rear of the machine!
Very intelligent!

Anyone got any ideas on this?
Is it most likely the PCB?
In which case, is that a massively expensive component ?
