Participanti know some jobs can be delayed re parts etc , but i booked a call to my own appliance via a well known fixed fee company , and before you ask it was because i could get a fixed fee repair for less than i could get the parts ..hmmmm
anyway booked called for 3rd of may , guys comes from hotpoint spends 11 minutes at job , and advises he needs to order parts ,
fast forward to today – i get a call saying parts are in stock now and engineer will return next friday 25th /05 ,
thats 3 weeks from a national company who are supposed to have parts for their own appliances ..

Can’t wait for the next thrilling instalment Ally. Meanwhile, I’m a tad curious as to what parts are needed, new tub job is it?

well i thought new tub martin but guy has ordered rear tub , no mention of drum shaft etc , so we will see – he may find appliance a tad worse as her indoors has been using it , i can hear it from the bottom of the drive ..

I’m surprised he ordered rear tub, as they get brow beaten to fit bearings on 1st visit, i never fit bearings i fit rear tubs and supports on them all as the poor punters are paying enough in my book and deserve to get a proper job done, plus there is less chance of a recall and the robbing gits clawing back money of me.

Flipping’ ek! Your drive is half a mile long, so we’re talking serious drum bearing issues here. Keep us posted….. 😀

yip its getting really load , my boy even hears it in his room wearing headphones listening to really load music ,
i find emusing really that we get harassed all day by call centers chasing up parts etc ,and we have to wait 3 weeks plus for a repair from a manufacture who really should have stock parts.
im hoping hes got a drum shaft as van stock as its was cleary obvious that both were away at 1st visit.

Hi funkyboogy,
Am I missing something here, you say you can get a fixed fee repair cheaper than parts for a tub job repair and you are in the trade?.
I suppose if its a welded tub 7kg drum the maths might add up.
To be honest the idea of calling out the manufactures with all the obvious aggravation that envolves to repair my machine is inconceivable to me.
Anyway hope they get a move on for you.
