Hotpoint 1848 Spares

Evening all,

I know it’s a long shot but would anyone here have any Hotpoint 18 series parts in particular a control panel for a Hotpoint 1848 as pictured? 🙂

Any help would be greatly appreciated as I have been offered one of these in a terrible state and I wish to try and do something with it rather than give up on it as it’s one of my all time favourites. 😥

first off i think get it somewhere and test it

also check the drum as most of this range use a steel coated drum with an alloy rear. the rears have a habit of corroding through

i may have the odd spare for these but a panel is not among them

Morning James, I know you have acquired a couple of bits n pieces, but what exactly do you mean by ‘control panel’

Do you just mean the facia decor, soap drawer etc, or the complete panel with timer etc?

Hi Dave,

I haven’t actually collected the machine yet as I want to determine whether it can be saved or not – hopefully I can.

The alloy backplates do have a habit of corroding through but I actually have access to a good backplate if that is the case.

I’d be interested in anything you may have.

Hi Jim,

As far as I understand it, the machine has the “inner???” control panel that the buttons, door release and potentiometer mount to. I need the actual fascia and dispenser handle (I should have the knobs and anything else sorted). I think I might know somewhere I can get the dispenser handle from but I don’t know the part number.

The original facia plate was a fairly thin alloy and had a ‘stick on’ decal for each model. None of these part numbers are listed now as they are all obsolete. 🙁

Thanks Jim,

I never examined a fascia of this design until I removed the one from my 1700 dryer for cleaning.

Hopefully I get lucky and find what I need, it would be a shame to let this opportunity go to waste. :bang:
