I’ve been to several of the 6Kg drum Hotpoint washing machines with reprted faults of banging about on spin. All the signs are that it’s being underloaded, that is, not doing it everytime and thumping around several times at the start of a spin, then spinning fine until it ramps down where it thumps a few times again. I test with full load of towels and no fault found.

Is anyone else having this? My assumption is that 6Kg drum is being underloaded and the Hotpoint isn’t very good at distributing them. Also, its out of balance detection system is poor.

    Hi Andy
I would agree with you as i have a WMA33 which is a 5.5Kg and when underloaded is does make an awful noise and banging when it ramps and when it slows down. I have been to customers with the same complaint yet when i test it with a nominal load it seems to be ok. I think a bit of advice to the customer is what is needed. Oh and then there is the option of the “one” button.i never use it myself but tell customers to stay away from it as it will most probably not spin at the endand out of balance will show on the last error.
