VISITED THIS MACHINE SOME 8 MONTHS AGO

    MACHINE IS IN A1 CONDITION

FOUND NORMAL BLOCKED PIPE WORK ON POOR WASHING CYCLE PROBLEMS, CLEANED AND BLASETED OUT WITH DE-SCALER..UNIT HAS WASHED WELL.

JUST RECENTLY, CLIENT INFORMS ON 65DEGREE WASH CYCLE, UNIT WAS RUNNING FOR 4HOURS, UNTIL PROGRAMMER ADVANCED MANUALLY

I SUSPECT THERMOSTAT PROBLEM AS THE WATER IS HOT HOT AND KNIFES/FORKS APPEAR TO HAVE INGRAINED STAINING AFTER WASH IS FINALLY COMPLETE. OR IS PROGRAMMER U/S

AS THE MACHINE IS VERY OLD, CAN WE STILL GET PARTS?

JUST WANT A SECOND OPINION CLIENT RELUCTANT TO BUY NEW AS ITS COLUR FITS KITCHEN DECOR!! and as usual client don’t like parting with the readies

    MANY THANKS

    GRAHAM

MY WEEK OF SILLY PROBLEMS IT LOOKS LIKE,

    Hi Graham
65c stat is 7022480, about £24 IIRC, element is 7202256, about £40. Check for broken wiring in door, burnt wiring between safety stat and element, element itself.

    Cheers,
    Chris.

I can count the number of stats I have changed on this model range on the fingers of one foot. 🙂

The chocolate biscuits advice on the door wiring is very sound. 😀

Quite a few parts for this machine are now listed as obsolete, including the early, relay start main motor.

Cap start motor is a drop in – it’s only a two wire feed from the loom, rest is on the motor. Fitted quite a few ceramic screw-on stats over the years and elements – usually as a result of the under filling problem caused by the transfer pipes.

Broken wires went through an almost endemic stage, including, oddly enough, breaking at the metal loom guide on the soap dispenser! The “loose” loom was never too bad, but the bonded plastic strip type caused all sorts of problems.

    Cheers,
    Chris.
