Hi All
I have a Hotpoint FF Fridge Freezer, Mistral Plus, model No. 8596.
It has a problem whereby the freezer compartment is cold but the fridge compartment is warm. I’ve tested the evaporator fan; this appears to be OK, the air ducts from freezer to fridge appear clear and the door switch is good.
I’ve searched and read many threads on this forum relating to this problem and it appears the fault is relatively common to this Fridge Freezer model where the Evaporator thermistor goes faulty. I have noted many people who replace the Evaporator thermistor also replace the freezer thermistor at the same time.
So here is my dilemma; I am going to replace the evaporator thermistor, but do I really need to replace the freezer thermistor as well? If the freezer thermistor were to be faulty would my fridge produce the symptoms of a warm fridge and cold freezer? Just trying to get a bit more of an understanding of what I am doing rather than blindly replacing two thermistors when I may only need to replace one.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks, Jason
