    Hi
I would be grateful for anyones advice as to the viability of repairing a Hotpoint 8895 Plus a rather unique upright Fridge Freezer model with three compartments the middle one being temprature adjustable.
Its now 11 years old but has developed a high pitched whine when the motor is running which I would guess is the bearings on the motor coming to the end of their life. Sadly no one now manufacturers a fridge freezer like this anymore but given its age is repair a viable option or is it now the time to send it to the great fridge mountain in the countryside.
I should be grateful for the experts opinion.
    Many thanks – Mark

Zanussi used to do one as well, I had one that still lives on, a “Superchill” machine from memory. I think Indesit did one as well.

Anyways, if the compressor is on its way out I’d not advise a repair as, to replace that, you’re looking at the thick end of two hundred notes. 😕

    K.
