    Hi all.
    Hope you can help.
    Hotpoint WF530P 1300RPM
Three and a half years old.
It’s gone wrong before but that gave an error code, lights flashing etc, fixed for £35.
This time there are no errors, lights are as normal, problem is, nothing happens apart from a short ‘shhh’ noise. It sounds like the water wants to come in but stops dead.
I have cleaned the filter (10p, 20p, 1p and a piece of foil).
    Still no good.
I took the machine outside, removed pipes from the pump, flushed things out so there were no blockages and checked that the pump was spinning freely with my finger.
Put the machine back, same thing, water feed is flowing freely, I cleaned the dispenser and flushed the waste pipe, still nothing.
    Any clues?
    Cheers.

    Hi helo.

carbon brushes, I get that bit (and btw, black dust in the back of the machine, could this be from the brushes or is it from belt wear?)
Faulty valve? Is that an inlet valve or other?
    Cheers.

    yep, inlet valve

the initial fill is just a test

it then tests everything, and if everything goes ok, it continues

unless the OTHER valves faulty of course
