ParticipantWas called to this with door wont open fault. Pecker seized on motor. Bit of grease all ok. Quick visual scan round machine saw red spot thermostat taped to rhs panel now starting to swing around a bit. Previous repairer found faulty interlock not pressing switch so fitted this. When i spoke to lady carer she said yes it’s flooded the kitchen a few times because the door wasnt shut properly!
How could repair person sleep at night after taking money for a dangerous repair.
New style lock fitted all sorted

Perhaps he thought that if the machine caught fire at least the TOC would switch off the power whilst he had a good nights kip?

Weird.
Why waste a TOC, just strip the insulation back and twist the wires together.
Sorted.

Probably the same guy certainly same region who used a washing machine on off switch inside a smeg dual fuel oven to bypass the timer. Walked away as it was a D&G covered appliance and if theyve done that what else could they have done?
Did look strange at first a nest of wires and this switch just taped up inside.

Most if not all engineers these days carry camera/phones so taking a picture and sharing these delights to us all on here would be much appreciated. 😀
