ParticipantBut just wondering…..I’ve been searching for the part number 168260 which is the number in my parts catalog. How or where would you (or me) find any info that would indicate that the part number was changed to 168908??? Assuming that this might occur again, using the original part numbers but not knowing that another part nuber superseded it???

2 my info comes from the original service manual I bought years ago. when the part no changed maybe 30 years ago we added the number to that manual. if a part no changes now we have to rely on a supplier to put a link to the new number or the manufacturers website

ParticipantThank you for the info. My parts catalog was found online, and apparently was the original prior to part numbers changing. I’m glad you had additional info, and once again thank you for your help. You deserve a Happy Christmas, and hope that you have one. Thanks again for all.

ParticipantYou`ll probably find the door seal has been superceeded and if so instead of the flat door seal to tank bank the new one is now a wire instead. If I`m right I`m not sure whether this new wire comes with the new type of door seal….that of course would be sensible and this is the domestic appliance trade where there is little or no sense.

ParticipantMy door gasket, at least originally, did not have the wire at the front of the seal. Instead there are two plastic pieces that screw into the machine that hold the front of the gasket in place. I have ordered the replacement seal 168908, as the one that is now 168260 has that ridged area, that, frankly, I don’t know how to deal with.
In the meantime, while waiting for these parcels, I’ve done an ‘experiment’ to try to see exactly where this is leaking. It only leaks when the machine is spinning, not when washing, draining, etc. I put a piece of cardboard under the machine and when it started to spin, shut off the machine and took a look. I’ll post a photo. If you look at the cardboard, just above the top of my phone on the left side of the photo, you’ll see a line in the cardboard. The front of the machine starts about 1 inch above that line. The cardboard goes exactly in between the feet of the machine. Note that when I pull the cardboard out, the water runs to the back of the cardboard, so what’s important is where the leaks start, I suspect. There appears to be two places that the machine is leaking. The first is in the center, which I assume is the door gasket. But there is a second one on the left side, that appears to start further in then where the plastic tub would be. I have ordered the tub seal as well. Do you think that this is what that second leak is??https://imgur.com/a/7R9F5Zz
