I ordered a new outer tub ( part no’ 168188 ) but the original tub front does not fit the new outer tub. Does anyone know if there is a different tub front to fit the new tub, or have I got the wrong tub??

You do sometimes get this problem. I used to find that the best way to overcome this was to build up the drum assembly and fit the drum front before installing the drum back into the cabinet and before fitting the lower balance weight. It just allows you to push and bend the new drum a little.

OTHERWISE JUST LEAVE THE BOTTOM WEIGHT LOOSE, FIT THE FRONT PLATE, THEN TIGHTEN THE WEIGHT UP FULLY AFTERWARDS…….

Thanks for the advice, it just seems that the old tub is slightly narrower by a few mm.

I’ve even had the odd WMA drum halves that don’t line up correctly without a bit of persuasion.

Then there’s those Indesit WG tub halves that don’t line up at all……

yeah the indesits need both back & front half together, bit like the zanussis, but the origional 9546 will just need a bit of persuasion, it may look a few mm out, but it will fit

Oh, you can always get an old 95 frontplate on. Washing up liquid and a few sharp thumps always does it for me. Now the old Creda 17 series front plate really was a bugger…. If you got it on, it left a 3/4″ gap at the drum front. Useless.
