The timer was turned 90° so that the wiring is underneath instead of at the side. I once had one of these that had been cobbled together from several different machines by some cowboy and bought by Social Services for a ‘Care in the Community’ house. No serial number on the new door trim. wrong control panel facia and no other ID. I finished up with three different knobs before I found the correct one. 😥

I have sometimes separated the still good shaft gripping bit from an old knob and fixed it to the dial of the broken knob using small cable ties through holes drilled in the plastic. There are arrows in the plastic labelled A,B,C which make lining up easy.

Check the back of the knob there is an arrow which will point to various postions marked a,b,c etc if you have the wrong knob tease of the back of the broken one noting the position do the same with the new knob , superglue the good back onto the relevant position and your done, i only ever carried a 1 white knob and 1 brown used on any washing machine or washer dryer.
