Hotpoint American Style Fridge Freezer – MSZ802DWF

Hi, 13 month old fridge freezer with a flickering water dispenser lightbulb problem.

When you dispense water a bulb illuminates presumably so you can see better. The problem is for the last couple of weeks this light bulb flickers (not very brightly) even when the water dispenser is not being used.

It seems to be connected with fans that circulate air within the fridge and freezer as and when required. When the fans are running the bulb flickers and when I open a door the fans stop and the lightbulb stops flickering.

Closing the door means the fans restart and the bulb flickers again.

Anyone know how to fix this as Hotpoint won’t help unless I pay the fixed fee callout. Thanks in advance.

Having spent some time searching, there are no clicking relays and everything else seems to be working fine (Fridge/Freezer/Ice maker/water dispenser).

It as if there is a voltage going to earth through the bulb.
