Smells just a little, most WMA’s would be nearer five than three years old for a start. Without any serial numbers or a receipt she hasn’t got a chance IMHO. Strange coincidence that at least two of them have serial numbers missing. :rolls:

How interesting
Whenever I repair a second machine at the same time, I am never quite sure what extra the customer expects to pay.
Double the amount for two machines?
1 hours extra labour?
Half as much again?
No extra. (As you were here anyway)What do you charge?

It sounds like a job lot from a recon / graded appliance shop.
Do you have any model numbers for the appliances?
Jim.

Hi Richard,
I’d agree with Jim.
There’s no way that the customer can expect any sort of warranty on appliances that are, at best, borderline in warranty with no POP or serials to assess the age. I don’t know of any manufacturer that would offer any repair with the lack of that and, IMO, rightly so as well.
It does sound well dodgy.

ok, sounds a grim outlook for the customer…she says she will contact hotpoint with regard to the t/d, which has model and SN and go from there
if i get a call back to deal with the other appliances i will post the history if there is one to tell. :rolls:
richard
ps i will also post model numbers later

I think Hotpoint used to charge the normal call out, then £25.00 per extra appliance while they are there (I am not 100{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d} sure)
I charge £47.00 labour + £15.00 per extra appliance while I am there.
If they forget to tell me on the phone (they tell me when I am already there) I will give them a rough estimate without touching it. If it takes more time and I have to take the top off etc then I tell them £15.00 + partsRegards

toni, i know it’s a tricky one with extra appliances…especially when the one you have been booked to deal with, and got another job next …sods law two things happen a) the first is a pig which means you stand the risk of being late for the next one and b) customer says …while you’re here could you look at….. 😡 :rolls: as to charging if and it’s a BIG IF and you have the time i add £20 for the second one
