    Hello
After running a while the Dryer emits a hell of a screeming/vibration sound from dryer rear – traced to the Float Chamber Pump – removed pump and pump bottom plate, no foreign bodies – ran pump on bench seems ok, re-installed same same noisy/vibs – but giving the pump a tap, not with a 7lb hammer, the sound & vibs disapear only for a while though. So ordered a new pump. (on it’s way)
Carried out further checks, dicovered the pump running continually, so is this the reason the bearings/armature have failed!? hence the vibs – or is the float switch not working – checked the voltage accross contacts = 3.3VoltsDC when contact is open –
So why does the Pump not stop on low level ? – is it because it’s control cct not working, overrun timer etc – How to Check this – circuit diagram would help of course ”But” tickling an Hotpoint rep is impossible, used too know one decades ago when I started my time as a sparky.
    So wot 2 do …joe

Pump does/should run continuously, just the consequence of using cheap components like 95{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d} of the market.

Switches ‘empty water’ light on cuts out heater, stops main motor on some models. It works in various ways but the pump does run continuously.
