Hi, got some useful info from the discussion above, had an f13 fault on my AQGMD 129 recently too. What sorted mine was, after taking the top off, I noticed a broken wire which I repaired. It was coming from a temp sensor (?) on the rhs of the big metal duct-like thing above the drum on the rhs of the machine. As always, disconnect from the mains before exploratory surgery. It looked like the wire may have been strained by the spin action so leave some slack if you find you have to repair it. Btw, taking off the top: remove the 2 screws at the back then gently lift from the back, pulling back as you go, should ease off nicely. Shouldn’t have to force, remember, the force is for star wars. Good luck.

Hi!
This same fault has happened with my machine today 🙁
Can you please confirm that it was the NTC at fault? It’s really frustrating as I never use the dryer on the machine, and now can’t use the washing bit either! Many thanks
Lyz(PS, I won’t be fitting the part, hopefully my lovely husband will!!)

This reply is brought to you by a captcha that didn’t hurt my eyes…
For anyone else that came to this thread via a search engine: Our AQGMD 149 just had this f13 problem and it was this sensor on the drier side.
I originally came across this thread and saw this was the likely cause, however when I pulled it out, tested it with my Fluke and dunked it in hot water it seemed to be working so, suspecting it was the computer, we called out an engineer who changed it anyway and the fault cleared.
What also threw me was the fault was occurring on ALL cycles, even the ones that don’t involve drying, so I suspect the machine does a self-test every so often and throws a wobbly if anything is out if the programmed parameters.
The part number (new? I didn’t notice the colour but it looks bigger than the old one) marked on the bag is 290251. I don’t know how much they cost elsewhere but in Croatia it was 60Kn (about 8€), which is cheap enough to try changing without throwing money away.
To get to it you’ll have to take the top of the machine off – pull the plug out of the wall first!!! The top is held on by 2 small phillips screws on the back. The sensor is on the right of the metal duct across the top right of the drum near the front. Take the top off of the heating duct, which held on with a load of small torx screws around the edge (the engineer also removed the top counterweight for clearance, which is just held on with 3 screws) and cut the cable tie at the front. There are a few connections but I think they’d be hard to confuse (if in any doubt take a picture of it first). The sensor will not just pull out as it is trapped between the two halves of the duct.
Hope that helps someone!

Hi, just a quick reply to confirm that replacing the sensor of the dryer unit was the solution for the ‘f13’ error (washing machine blocked) on our Ariston Hotpoint AQGMD 149.
The sensor has partnumber 290251 and can be found at most shops that sell whitegood parts, like here:
http://www.europart.nl/wasmachine+onder … /02261130/It costs around 20 euros including shipping and takes about an hour to replace.
In my view absolutely worth the effort before placing an expensive service call 🙂Thanks for the info provided in this topic!
