ParticipantWe have got the error code f-05 on our hotpoint aqualtis aqxxf 149 pm and i was wondering if someone could tell me what the fault code means and is it going to cost alot to fix. My girlfried has taken the washing out of the machine and there is some water in their so she decided to remove the kick plate to see if the filter was blocked, so when she removed the drain plug the fin broke off :boops: and now she cannot get the drain plug out, so is their a easy way to get the drain plug out and can a new one be bought.

F05 is pressure switch stick on full, usually due to machine not emptying because of pump filter blockages.
The only way to remove the objects ( that should not have been put in the washer in the first place) now that the filter has broken is to drop the pump off and remove the hoses. Best way to access is by tilting/leaning it back against a wall or similar with someone holding it for you.You can buy a new filter, part No: C00141034.
Bear in mind that if you tilt the machine back when it is full of water you risk upsetting the pressure switch and then you would have to go through a reset procedure to get the machine to work again.
If you can access the grey plastic drain hose at the back, lower it into a washing up bowl or large roasting tray and you may be able to drain it that way before tilting the machine. Do not lie the machine down and be sure to remove the mains plug first.

No special tool, once you have removed the hoses you should be able to pull/shake out all of the garbage from the pump body, coins, bra wires, hair grips etc, you really do need to take better care when loading the machine TBH. 😉
When you have cleared the pump it should be possible to extract the broken filter.
If you send an e-mail to spares@ukwhitegoods.co.uk they will be able to obtain a filter for you.September 30, 2012 at 10:22 am #382081madangler1

As has been said she is blocked. The fin snapped because something is jamming it. At this point best option is to remove the pump/ filter assembly , normally 2 or 4 screws at the front where the filter was. Get a bowl at this point as there will be water , You will then have 2 hoses and a wire attached to it. disconnect the hose from the pump thats going to the sump(bottom if the tank) normally a spring clip holding it on, you should now have enough movement to fully lower it, try removing what ever is jamming the filter from the hole where the pipe came off. You should then be able to unscrew the filter and remove what ever is left, even with the fin broke you can normally still get them in and out with a pair of pliers speed wide open to catch what’s left.
Once done refit and make sure that hose is on tight.
As for resetting the machine. First this it turn it on. Put it on a cotton wash and check it fills. Once it’s filled to the correct level pause the program and set it to drain. If it refuses to fill to start with then put a litre or so of water in the tank and then set it to drain. Should be fine after this.

It’s much better if you keep posts on the same subject to your original thread, saves confusion. 😉
The part number I gave you is the correct one, you should be able to order it direct from the Indesit Company, failing that then you will have to change the pump assembly complete. No bad thing if you have had it bunged up with solid objects.
Did you manage to clear it?
I have merged threads.

Sorry mate i did try and add the picture to the post but for some reason it wouldn’t let me. I haven’t got a fiter yet as i hurt my back so couldn’t get down there until yesterday and have a look. So when i removed the filter it was blocked with a plastic jigsaw piece, fluff, some piece of plastic off new clothes and a cocktail stick. I have contacted an ebay seller to see if the sell C00141034 on its own to save a bit of money and i was told i need part number C00045027. So i have looked on hotpoints website and C00141034 looks like the one i want apart from being white. So would you know whats the difference is between C00141034 and C00045027.

Ignore the eBay advice, the number I gave you is the correct one from the Indesit Companies own spares software, Partfinder. I have seen both black and white ones. As long as you have cleared the blockage and can refit the filter you have you should be able to continue using it in the meantime.

I have also merged your last post into your original thread, I know you now have a different fault but anyone else reading the thread will have a better idea of anything that has occurred recently. 😉
Did you just tip the machine back or lie it down? Does the machine run on drain & spin? Are there any lights on the front flashing?

I did tip the machine back but no more than 8 inches. I have now put the machine on a synthetics wash and the machine works fine with no error, but if i put it back on bed & bath it just does nothing after the machine has filled.

:con: Very strange, not one I have come across before, there are many people that will tell you that the fact that it works at all is a bonus given its doubful parentage. :rolls:
Unless any of the current company or franchised engineers have any ideas?????
