Trying to find a 16002376400 switch for the washer . I have been sent a 3 wire 1600266924 and they tell me its correct for the machine?
I see posts where people say you can fit they with modification , and I respect the machines maybe 12 yrs old , but if all else fails , surely at least Hotpoint themselves can supply one of these ?
I am interested as to how similar the 2 switches are and can it be adapted because at present our washer washes ok every other time , whereas it F5’s and you need to loosen the drain and let mainly air out and some water ,and it finishes no problems !
While I accept it may be board related ,could easily be the sensor and is worth a try !
Its just so difficult to find the right one ,as folk say when they quote the first number I wrote they end up with a totally different part (3 wire connector )

to be able to look up any part i would need all the numbers off the lablel.
that way i can get an accurate part number and it will possibly show any mod that may be required

So what you mean is (I guess) you remove the old harness and install the new one which then has the 3 pin connector to fit the new sensor? Thanks for your comment by the way ,nice to be here (its my first post !!)
If this is the case then I wish they could include an instruction to tell you how to proceed lol

Why has the sensor 5 wires if 3 are sufficient , there must be 2 common pairs I persume?

they do with some mods but most of the time its assumed you are a proffessional and you should know

truth is we struggle with some mods without the tech help but they only allow that to agents. so the ones that arnt have to beg

I will look a bit later thanks !! I thought it was odd they included the harness as in my mind the old one is sufficient , but I was relutant to remove the older one from its plug and swap over onto new harness ,without knowing the part was an alternative item that wouldn’t damage the board !

Why the 5 wires ,are 2 pairs common I persume?

Having had a look , I see the harness trails down over the topside ,then drops down to the white circuit board /module , where its plugged in next to 2 others in a line , 5 wires in this plug !
I am a bit of a worrier and still cannot see why there are 5 wires and then you only use 3 ,what were the other two doing ???

Does anyone really know ? lol

Thanks Dave . Its reassuring to see that if you remove the 5 wire sensor and look at the pcb carefully ,you will find that there are the end 2 wires that have no contacts -so are unused !! We had a game trying to fit the new 5 wire plug into the bottom control pcb ,but that was because they cunningly put a plastic bar in the centre of the new plug so it does not fit !!
So after having changed the 2 plugs by pulling them apart carefully (they remind me of Scotchlock fittings ) and checking before and after with the multimeter for continuity and being sure we had got the wiring correct – we are away to go!
    What a kerfuffell Andy !!

Just a footnote – I changed the sensor, after modification with the new harness , although I think if you are careful enough ,you could modify the 5 pin plug by removing the section with the 2 mute wires on it so it fits the new 3 pin sensor , and after ten washes the Hotpoint has performed perfectly !!
A bit more life out of the old girl

Thanks for your invaluable help folks !!
