I popped into Comet at the weekend to check these out and saw the Miele and Hoover equivalents….all very odd?
And oooh dear the new Miele style does look like a load of rubbish……what have they done? ๐ฏ

My sentiments exactly Martin. Since they bought out that range in the summer our sales have gone down dramatically on Miele, shame really as I still rate them as the best brand around. I wonder how Miele see the new range now :rolls:

Getting back to the (hehe) Hotpoint (rebadged Ariston) Aqualtis, it would seem that Which don’t much care for it either, in fact they’ve set a new milestone by advising people to avoid them…
Which wrote:The Hotpoint Aqualtis AQXXL129 and Indesit WIA121 claim the dubious honour of being the first two washing machines weโd recommend that all Which? members avoid. In our latest test, these models struggled to get the basics right. Both were poor at removing tough stains, such as red wine, grease, chocolate and blood, on the cotton wash. The Hotpointโs easy-care program is also far from the best. Donโt be tempted by the two machinesโ desirably short wash times because, overall, they have too many weaknesses to be worth buying.
Seems we’re not alone in not taking to the new Hotpoints .

You may know that Which? are printing a kind of apology in their next issue about the Aqualtis as they didnt test them with comparable loads (according to Hotpoint!) When the right programme is used they wash fine (ie dont wash big soiled loads on synthetic quick was programmes!)

I lost my confidence in “Which” years ago , they did the top ten of washers. Tricity Bendix came top, Zanussi came bottom. Same machine ๐

Participanthave been reading the thread, and just to let you know the bearing in the sealed tub is the same as the old 95 , wm bearing and seal, and the axle is a cross between wma and the old 95. will not stand up to 7.5 kg loads, not in a million!!

Take you have an angle grinder, then? ๐
It really doesn’t bode well, does it?

I went to a troublesome Aqualtis today and for those of you that haven’t yet lifted the lid on one, here is a glimpse into the future :rolls: …..: –
The 2nd photo shows the drum light fitting in the top of the Door Boot.
The 3rd photo shows the 6 core cable that goes through the top door hinge and to the Programme Module in the door (only 5 wires connected, the 6th just hangs around not needed!)

Went to one a few months ago, only 7 months old but she suspected she had a credit card in the drum. She was correct, unfortunately I could not extract it from any orifice. ๐ฅ

I went to fix a Creda dryer this morning. Alongside that was a silver Hotpoint Aqualtis and whilst repairing the dryer I asked the customer what she reckoned of her new Aqualtis?
“Worst machine I ever bought, it’s gone wrong loads of times. The drum paddles keep falling off! I’ve had the door hinges replaced twice and it took 3 engineers to figure out why the drum light was on all the time? They replaced some electical bit to eventually solve that, I don’t know what?”
I recalled that the last time I called to fix the dryer she’d bought a brand new Whirlpool American Top Loader?
“Yes I did have a Whirlpool and that only lasted 3 years then I bought this load of rubbish!…..What machine would you recommend is a good one???…..”
Curiously the Aqualtis in question is not listed on Partfinder? I guess Hotpoint are being rather protective of this model… maybe? ๐
