hotpoint aquarius ctd00 tumble drier broken :(

hi all,

my tumble drier model number as per the title has suddenly stopped working, i have tried the fuse and it’s fine. it doesn’t do anything. i doon’t relly know where to start to be honest but thought i’d ask here first.

I would go back and have a good look at the front of the machine first, then come back and tell us if it is a Hotpoint or an Electrolux. 😉

If it is a Hotpoint then the first thing to have a look at is the door and the small pin that should be sticking out of the door near the top.

oops 😆 well spotted iadom. i better change the thread title. it is indeed a hotpoint. i definitely can see no pin though??

There will be a small hole in the inside of the door where the pin should be. 😉

You need a C00113847 microswitch piece.

It doesn’t appear to be in the Shop@ but an e-mail to spares@ukwhitegoods.co.uk should get you sorted.

thanks iadom.however, there is definitely only one hole on the door, in the centre at the top about 7mm diameter?? does it fit here? there are no wires for a microswitch to plug into. any ideas?

There should be a small, white plastic pin sticking out of the door. That pushes into another hole on the front of the dryer, activating the door switch. 😉

Simple test,with the door open, set timer on, push the end of a pen or small screwdriver gently into the hole on the front of dryer until you hear a click and then press the start button.

iadom. you are a star!!! the door pin appears to have disappeared but when tsted as per your last post. the drier works. i have now sent an email to the shop.

unfortunatly the ukwhitegoods shop doesn’t have this piece available and google doesn’t bring too much up either, any ideas anywhere else?
