Hi could someone please advise me, I’ve had my hotpoint Aquarius for years with no problems, but the other day it tripped my fuse box and now the mains on/off switch won’t stay in and the mains light won’t come on, if I keep it pressed in then the dishwasher works and I’ve gone through the cycles which seem fine so do you think I need a new on/off switch or is it something else, many thanks for your help.

It could be a number of things the most likely of which is a faulty heater or circulating pump. In any even it needs checking out electrically with an insulation tester to find the source of the residual earth leak. You had best call in a local expert for that.

Thanks for the reply martin, im not sure whether to bother getting it repaired as its getting on a bit, would you have a rough idea on cost of repair compared to buying new, many thanks.

Not a clue I’m afraid, bit like “how long is a piece of string?”
