hotpoint aquarius door won’t open

My machine reached the end of the spin cycle but I can’t get the door open. I have tried several times to let it run to the end of the cycle but still no go,
Any ideas?

There are several versions of the Aquarius range and have differing door locks 😕

Try lowering the drain hose into a bowl or bucket to drain every last drop of water out, then try the door again. 😉 If it has a release device on the door and it is loose to operate…then you’ve broken it and you need an engineer in to sort it. If it has a push button on the front fascia and it doesn’t engage, then either that too has broken or the machine still has water in it, drain it first then try again 😀

Failing all that please give us the model number for further help :tup:

It’s a Hotpoint Aquarius 9926 washer drier.
The catch on the door has some resistance and doesn’t feel broken.
I have lowered the hose as suggested and only got about half a cupful of water out. The catch will still not release
