Sorry Dave. It’s a DWF50.

It means the circulation motor/pump isn’t running on this Ariston built model.
Various things can cause this, the motor itself, capacitor, control unit or a blockage.
Power off please if you investigate yourself :zap: or check the repairs@ link below 😀

I had this same problem last night on a 2 year old Hotpoint Aquarius DWF40. Water left in the bottom of the machine. Water cleared out…tried again…went through prewash and then stopped again but there was an odd humming sound before it cut off with the flashing lights.
This morning – disconnected everything + removed water, turned it on its side and took the bottom off. Traced back from the waste pipe and the first thing I got to was this ‘circulation motor/pump’ thingy. Took this off and took it apart (need a star key) and looked inside to find a large chip off a plate in the propeller housing – may have stopped it from turning (possible source of humming). All back together and has gone past prewash now and seems to be behaving but we shall see!
If you’re fairly handy it’s not too hard to check this ‘circulation motor/pump’ just make sure you make a note of how things fit + connect as you go along so you put it back together properly. I would start by emptying out any water and resetting it, then run the program and see what it does – have a good listen when it stops?!
Good luck!
