Can anyone help please. My Hotpoint has developed a leak which at first I thought was a hose but on closer inspection appears to be coming from the back of the drum where the belt attaches to the pulley. It is difficult to be more specific as on this model it is impossible to get a good look without actually removing the drum. I have thought for a while that the machine has become quite noisy and now wonder if the bearing is on its way out and consequently any seals … hence the leak. Is there any history of such a problem with this model ? Is this a DIY repair job or one for the professionals ?…..would the cost of fixing be prohibitive enough to warrant buying a new machine.
Many thanks in advance.

Re: Hotpoint Aquarius Extra WMA37 – Leak from drum
Hi Rob.
Without doubt your drum bearing seal has failed causing the leak and the bearing noise you can hear.
Not a DIY job unless your confident to tackle it, it’s a long and not a very nice task to be honest, often taking up to 2/3 hours if you haven’t done one before.
As a guide and depending on what other damage may have occured you could be looking between £120-£175 to repair.
