Hotpoint Aquarius not using salt

Hello,

I have the above dishwasher, it has always been great but for 2 months I have been having to hand wash everything.

I have washed the filters, am using rinse aid, I’ve cleaned the spinning arms, and make sure they can spin every time, I’ve pulled the machine out to check for kinked pipes, and used a descaling dishwasher cleaner, all with no joy. The salt dispenser is still full, and has been for over the 2 months. I have also wiggled my finger in this dispenser in the hope it may do something.

is there anything else I can try before calling someone out?

Well you could try giving us the full model number for a start. 😉 If you are using 3 in one or 4 in 1 tablets or sachets you should not use any rinse aid. Are the arms actually going round? Set it to a wash programme and when you think it is washing open the door quickly. If it is pumping the water round you should get sprayed with water.
Are any of the lights flashing or is any error code displayed?

Are you in a hard water area?
