My Hotpoint drier seems to be working ok, but is emitting a black dust, a little like carbon black at the right hand side and underneath. Any ideas on the source and what action needed?

Most likely to be rear bearing failure, take off the small cap covering the rear bearing at the back, dead centre to inspect.
