hotpoint aquarius vtd00 tumble dryer

help required please. when i press the start button on my tumble dryer it just clicks and then “buzzes”. i have spun the motor and this spins freely and the drum turns fine. any ideas please?

sounds like a faulty door lock or capacitor,
plug out if checking.

any idea how to trouble shoot this? also any idea of prices for door lock/capacitor?

best way to check is take lid off, then start machine, and when it starts to buzz, give the drum a push and see if it goes

if it does, its the cap

serial number will identify door lock, as 2 versions
