    Hi All , 🙂
Don’t know if anyone can help me with this problem. I have a Hotpoint Aquarius VTD00P , a few months ago I started being a little temperamental , sometimes starting sometimes not.
After doing some research, I found that a common (?) problem was the interlock – so I replaced it! , you can imagine the joy as I stood there in front of the machine , new interlock fitted – pressed start … nothing. Same as always, a faint buzz that fades away quickly, and a click. 😥
    Anyone got any ideas?
    Thanks in advance folks!

    unusual

ar you sure the bit that locates in the lock on the door isnt broken?

the buzzing is the lock not activated

Intermittant start, no start, cutting off early can all be caused by THIS FELLER becoming eccentric in it’s operation.

If the humming noise is low down in the machine, it may be the MOTOR CAPACITOR failing to start the motor. You should, however, still get heat.

Power off if you are following these up.

Funny you should say that about the door , Originally my wife slammed the door too hard and managed to break the spring in the interlock , so the door wouldnt close properly. When I changed the interlock though , the door now closes and stayes closed , but its still not starting , just that click and buzz

is it a bitron lock ( the relay in the lock itself)?

the relay penguin showed you is off the earlier one

    you got a serial number?

Helo_pm’d you , but for anyone else , yes it is a bitram lock – both the new one and the old one are exactly the same by the look of it.
