    Hi,
Our Hotpoint Aquarius 1200 Washing Machine – model number WD62 has been working perfectly. In fact it did a wash earlier today. I put another wash in, set the machine, turned it on – absolutely nothing! 😥 I have checked the door is closed completely, the fuse in the plug, the electric going to the socket, and everything all seems to be normal. 😕
What possibilities are there for such a sudden and complete strike? With no previous symptoms? :rolls:
    All help greatly appreciated! 😀
    Many Thanks – Dawn

The most common reason for this is the door locking device failing. There is a short time delay where the locking device engages and as the machine gets older the delay period gets longer and longer until it fails altogether. If the symptoms I describe relate in your case then you need one of these.

:zap: POWER OFF BEFORE ATTEMPTING TO INVESTIGATE :zap:

Possibilities are the door interlock may have gone faulty. If you are unlucky it may have shorted and blown tracks off the timer unit. if there is a hole in the doorseal it may have leaked onto the doorlock as well causing the fault.
Unplug power if you are going to have a look yourself. Or Repairs@ for an engineer.

    Regards
