ParticipantHi all,
Hoping someone can give me some insight to an issue I am having with my washer dryer, not drying correctly.
There is a bit of background to this that may be relevant so I will add it.I was recently away and as I live in an old house that has had previous issues I turn the mains water off.
When I returned I turned the water on and started the first washing load.
When removed the washing after a wash/dry cycle there was a puddle of water in the bottom of the machine, this pumped out successfully. (The top of the clothes pile had dried fine, the bottom obviously was wet).
I came back to the machine a couple of hour later and opened the door, water poured out onto the floor….
I determined that the inlet valve had jammed slightly open, I ordered a new valve and replaced it.Now the next time I tried drying the clothes come out hot and steaming and I am trying to determine why (they are actually wetter than after the spin stage).
Current investigation:
The air dryer stage works fine.
Washing machine works fine so unlikely to be pump/filter issue.
I’m not 100{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d} sure of the new valve, it fits and looks like the original, it is a 3 way valve, my washing machine was not on the list of that part however I doubt the list was exhaustive, I did have to swap the solenoids around to get the wires to fit in (the wire plugs are keyed somewhat, and while there is no exact match I did mange to find a combination that let me get all the wires connected) – I did photo the old part before I took it off so I know the correct wire controls the correct valve so that is not the issue.
I found out later that the reason my old valve got jammed open is a small flow restriction washer came detached and entered the valve. The machine is a bit strange as it actually has 4 directions for water, a 3 way valve and a single way valve (so 2 external inputs although both a cold fill by way of a Y connector). 2 valves go into the dispenser for washing, the other on the 3 way is the one that had issues and goes into the back of the drum (I assume to the condenser). The single way valve goes into the corner of the metal fan/air heater housing next to the drum, I’m not sure of its purpose, but I thought most washer driers had 3 inlets not 4.
Could it be the new part is letting too much water into the condenser?
Or is this a separate issue that has coincidently happened right now…possibly due to moving / opening up the machine?January 13, 2016 at 2:27 pm #434444iadom

Sounds like you have reconnected wiring incorrectly and the condenser valve is not getting a feed when it is on the drying cycle.
Off the top of my head the wiring colours to the treble valve looking from front to back should be Black/Blue/White. That is assuming you have the later type of Indesit dispenser with the three valves all in line and slotted in under the end of the dispenser.
Is your this type or the earlier Hotpoint type valve with hoses going from each individual valve.
The full serial number of the machine would be a help.
Correct part number of valve is C00144007. It should not have been necessary to alter the connectors.

I would still be looking at the pump, possibly cutting out during drying cycle

@andy – Have checked the waste, water is coming out correctly all through the drying cycle
@iadom – The part number you showed is spot on, annoyingly the part I have is C00110331 so that is why I had to move the solenoids around…(I just assumed it was the same part that might have changed somewhat due to the machine’s age – only found this website today). The wire order is definitely correct as I photographed it (incidentally the colours are orange white blue from front to back), and the correct solenoid is being activated as I can feel the pipe moving when the dryer is activated.
I’m guessing having the wrong inlet on won’t do it any good…although they look pretty much the same to me when placed side by side.

Completely wrong valve, would suggest getting the correct part and hope the very flimsy wiring connections haven’t been damaged.

Well thought I would post an update – problem solved.
I managed to fix my original inlet valve by removing and refitting the pressure reducing piece on the valve to the condenser.
Fortunately I was not so ham fisted as to break the wires…so all good there.I did a bit of testing to find out the difference between the parts.
The only difference (apart from the subtly different keying for the solenoids) is that the flow on the valve to the condenser is about half on the correct part for my machine, so I think with the wrong part on it was just flooding the base of the drum allowing the clothes to get wet again.Cheers for the advice, the correct part number was especially useful as I had no idea how to find the correct one 🙂
