    Hi
I have machine hotpoint aquarius wf240 and bearings seem to have gone removed belt turned and grinding sound still there. I am quite good at diy but have found sometimes without correct tools for the job sometimes this is not really an option . Just thought i would ask advice of changing bearings on this model is easy or if more sense to call in expert repair what should i be looking at as a acceptable price for the job.The machine is about 6 years old so if you may advise to scrap purchase new machine.
    Thanks in advance.

First check if the tub joint is held together with screws, if not you can’t change the bearings. They are not too bad to do. Basically you remove the cabinet front, remove concrete blocks, motor, hoses , shock absorbers etc from the outer tub and lift the tub out through the front. You remove the screws and split the tub so you can lift (or knock) out the inner drum. Then it’s just a case of drifting or pressing out the old bearings and reversing the procedure to rebuild.
