Hi guys, I have been maintain this machine since we have had it (5 yrs ,there about) and have replaced numerous paddles and can speed clean the pump motor, as there is no filter ,but am now stumped.

It blew the rcd whilst on final spin ,so i reset the trip and the motor was straining but not moving.
The motor had carbon all over it so I took out the old brushes ,which were worn, and put it all back together.
Now the motor spins a good ‘un but the bl**dy thing is still tripping.
I disconnected the pump in case it was that, but it still trips.

    Any ideas?.

    Ta.

it’ll either be the motor or the heater

what you can do if your no good at insulation testing with a megger is to disconnect the heater completely, and try it again

if it trips, its the motor, if not, its the heater

however, we strongly recommend testing with the plug out with a suitable megger

itll be one or the other, but given the problem youve had, its likeley the motor is at fault

a good tip for the future if you are changing lifters and speed emptying the pump is to check those pockets before you start a wash
as for todays fault then i would say the motor as said before unplug and megger

Disconnected the motor and no trip so now will have to decide on a new motor or replacing the machine.

As for checking pockets, well I have come to the conclusion that it would probably be easier to train chimps that to teach my kids, next machine WILL have a filter.

    Thanks.
