    Any idea’s ?

I had to reset the mcb at the consumer unit and replace the fuse.

all the lights except the ‘door locked’ ‘creases’ and ‘mini load’ come on when I now set the programmer but the machine does not start.

    thanks

I have just been and switched the programmer on and there is a burning smell coming from the front of the machine near the programmer and there is a warm spot at the top of the facia immediately above the programmer knob.

none of the lights are now coming on but the fuse is ok.

Forgot to say, the cycle stopped after about half an hour or so, and the softener is still in the dispenser.

theres a good chance the brushes have worn in the motor, and blown the pcb

take the pcb off and have a look… youll see where the track has blown on the motor/door lock plug

its quite common…. im just not always sure the motor is repairable after its gone that bad

Thanks for the info, helo 😀

The bushes were changed a few months ago, also the door switch about a year ago.

I have been reading some poor reviews about hotpoint appliances, I have a hotpoint dishwasher and tumble dryer and both have been repaired recently.

So, I think I’m going to buy a new one…. not a Hotpoint though 👿
