Re: hotpoint aquarius wma54
If the machine has been making a loud noise for some time then you may regret ignoring it.
In most cases when it has got bad enough to throw the belt off the bearings and drum support shaft will be damaged beyond repair.
It may well have the cheaper, Indesit 30mm bearings as well.
The only satisfactory repair would be a new drum rear half & seal plus a new drum support shaft.
Not a simple DIY task and very expensive.
Leaks and noises should be investigated and attended to ASAP.
If this machine is repaired with the 35mm shaft and rear half it would still be better than any sub £300, new machine on the market IMHO.
Also the Indesit Company will do the whole repair for £115.00, just don’t let them pressure you into paying any more for extra warranty and descaler etc. 😉
