Can anyone shad some light on what may be the problem with my washing machine.

My hotpoint WMA58 first started to make loud distubing noises when it was spinning however the last wash I did the machine went through cycle but the drum didn’t turn.

Took back off machine; the belt had come off this was put back on thinking problem solved but when started the machine everything seemed ok until it spun again it was very load and it was shaking all about had to stop machine it turns out the belt had come off again.

Could there be something making the belt slip there doen’t seem anything wrong with the belt it was difficult to get on so it seems tightly fitted.

    Has anyone got any suggestions?

    Thanks Jane

If you check thebig pulley (unplug first! ) before you put the belt back on, if the pulley can be rocked back and forth andalso the bearings are noisy when you spin the drum by hand, then, as helo75,said, the drum-bearings are U/S. 🙁
