ParticipantMy HotPoint Aquarius WMAL 641 washing machine has started leaking a little, just sometimes. A small puddle may form on the floor near the centre/front of the area revealed after the lower kick panel has been removed. It’s not the filter/pump, which is to the right, and it’s not an external door seal leak. I de-gunked the powder tray and nozzles in case that was the cause.
This intermittent minor leak is more likely to occur later in a run during the spin cycle, and more likely if it’s the second or third wash that day than a single one. As if the water is slowly seeping through. Lifting the machine and sliding a phone underneath, I’ve managed to get a picture of the water drip appearing through a crack, but cannot post the picture due to tiny upload limits. It looks like a beige coloured pot-marked but generally smooth material with three large cracks meeting and a water drop forming nearby.
Is that the drum, or a concrete block the water was worked its way down onto? A black concertina hose can be seen to one side approaching the trap/pump, but water falls onto this rather than comes from it. Any ideas of the significance of the crack and slow leak’s origin are appreciated.

Moderatorthe drum material is normally beige in colour and if its this that’s cracked
if its only cracked you can use silicone but use rough emery to give it a key and make sure its dry with a hair dryer

you can host the photo on an outside site and post a public link

Moderatorthat look like the concrete
if the concrete has broken then it may have cracked the tub where it mounts
either way you need to look moreI would take of the door seal round the door and look for water under the seal and where it meets the drum

ParticipantThanks, yes I thought it was concrete too. Are you saying take off the door seal off from the outside I assume? And if the tub has cracked, wouldn’t it leak continuously throughout every wash cycle, not just the later/spin stages of later washes?

Moderatorwater levels are lower these days and water does not always reach the door seal
also check the soap hose where it enters the drum. its common for these to come loose over time and leak

ParticipantOK, will do. I take it I’ll need to fully remove the machine to lift the lid and gain access to see anything? Just because it’ll be the weekend before I can attempt this.
