Participant😀 Hi Helpful Technical People
This morning my AQUARIUS VTD65 has refused to tumble although everything else seems to be working – I did see a recent posting on here regarding a similar problem with a White Knight Drier – my tumble drier will move around by hand and although only about 18mths old has been making a really painful screeching noise for a while while tumbling – dont know if this related. Any help/advice gratefully receivedAugust 27, 2006 at 1:20 pm #186674iadom

Depending on the Date code ( first two numbers of your serial number) you may have a machine with rather horrid, noisy drum pulley type, front bearings. These have been superceded, or to be more accurate they have gone back to an earlier design of drum support bearing pads. A complete modification kit is available but it is not a simple DIY fix.
Possible that your belt has failed due to the drum binding as a result of the drum support pulleys failing. Although you do have a five year parts guarantee, a local independent engineer may just be cheaper. Check the link in my Sig to see if we have someone who can help.

Thanks Jim
Sounds a bit technical hoping someone would say turn it on at the mains or something equally simple – will be calling an engineer – thanks for your advice. 😉

I could be more precise with an exact date code, 😉
One word of advice, there is very little to service on modern machines but you should get immediate attention to a washer, tumble dryer or dishwasher if it leaks or makes any noise that is out of the ordinary.
Would you carry on driving your car without having it checked if it made a loud screeching noise, or supposing the dryer caught fire, you would feel a bit silly or even worse if neglecting to get the machine seen to was found to be the cause of a fire that burnt your house down, it has happened.
