Hotpoint Aquaruis WDL540 won’t spin

Hi wondered if someone can point me in the right direction.

Machine fills the drum ready for wash then just stops with no error codes. If I turn off by plug and switch back on I can choose another wash. If I use pump out it empties the drum.

If I use the dryer option it make a noise for a few seconds then does nothing. The lights stay the same.

The machine is about 3 yrs old.

Full model number including any suffix plus serial number and commercial code needed to be certain as one model of WDL540 has a 3 phase motor whilst the others have brush gear motors. Worn motor brushes would be the first thing to check for, assuming it does have that type of motor.

Surely the brushes are not worn after 3 years?

That’s like a sale rep saying surely my cars tyres can’t be worn after only three years. 😉 It all depends on the amount of use, three years for average family use is not excessive.
