ParticipantHi folks
Not to familiar with these only been to 2 before and one of those was just off ballance load.
Went to this yesterday and m/c not starting – all lights up – press start and nothing. Accoring to cust instruction book the start light paulses (which it does) then when you press start it changes to a continueus light and locks door(which it doesn’t) – light continues to pulse and nothing happens.
Tested door lock and there seems to be a circuit accross what is either the soleniod or heater so not sure if this is a problem with circuit board or door lock?
Did have a door lock on van but needed wiring mod to fit but as not a conclusive lock problem thought i might seek some advice.
As well as that can some one tell me :-
How does the @~?&*^ lid come off – seems to be atached at the front but I tried uncliping, pushing back – thumping back all to no avail and the front lid trim is starting to look dodgey with small hair line cracks in it so dont want to force any more incase i break it – not sure if they were there before or they are a product of my efforts. Or just thinking about it does it just lift up at back and push forward 😳 (was at the end of a long hard day and so used to thumping hotpoint lids backwards).
Out of interest to how does the pcb in the door get its supply as there appears to be no wiring going through to the door?
Changed a door lock on one of these about 12 mths ago but cant rember having all these probs – seem to rember was a straight forward diagnose and no lid problems only wiring mod problem trying to decide which of the new looms to fit.
Any help appreciated
Thanks
Mick.

lid is difficult to come off you have to spring it at the back and push back at the same time waggle it up and down
wires to front panel go through top hinge
if you suspect panel send both pcb’s to emw they will test as pair
check both motor and heater for earth faults

Thanks for the reply Dave – no lid off so didn’t see the wires but couldn;t see anything from outside and with all the tech rubish they do these days just wondered if the interaction between control module and display module was wireless !!
Should the pulsing start button change to continuius light when pressed to start – door lock fault or not – or if still pulsing and not activating anythng is this denoting module/distplay module?
Thanks
Mick

Mick
I had one awhile back, it did the same, if you played about with the buttons it would eventually clear its self and the door lock would burst into life for a few seconds and then it was ready to go. It was ok for a month or two then same happened again, did same again then was ok but after a month or so it did same again and would not reset. Sent the board to EMW and they repaired it ok.

did one today, the exact same fault, turned out to be dodgy motor brushes 😀

Thanks for the replies folks
Dont think this is motor brushes – checked that and induction motor fitted 🙂
Looks like possible module/display fault and send them off to EMW then.
Don’t suppose anyone can answer the question about the pulsing start light – does it stop pulsing before the door locks or after?
Thanks

Ops – looks like i have pressed the button twice – my age is the excuse 😆
Just out of interest looking as the instructions it says the door lock light comes on when the door is shut so if the door lock light isn’t coming on this could indicate a faulty door lock?
Is there any way of fitting a new door lock without going thru the pain of a wiring mod to check the lock? Are the tags on the new lock the same as the old one – altho different connecter block on the new lock would indicate not?
Thanks
Mick
