Hotpoint AQXXF 149PM – washing no longer smells fresh

Whenever I remove my washing from the machine it never has that just washed fresh smell. It smells as if it has been washed without any washing powder at all.
We have removed the filter and cleaned it (it was very smelly). I have put the machine on a 90degree wash and still have the same problem.
I use washing powder or tablets plus in addition fabric softener so my washing should be soft & fragrant which it is not. I have even stopped the machine on its last rinse and added softener in the drawer with no success.
Has anyone a solution to this please.

you can get cleaner for your machine the hotpoint website (limescale and detergent remover part no c00090908)if you use a quick wash on a regular basis the detergent wont get flushed away because you only get one rinse on a quick wash.so the soap powder stays in the tank and begins to smell over time .there is a topic in the forum on quick wash by martin well worth a read.

Then you should do a very regular maintenance wash with a small amount of GREEN BOX powder or a proprietary cleaner.

I always make sure that my own machine does at least one 60 degree wash, every week using green box Arial powder. After over ten years my rubber door seal looks like new and the machine is as clean as a whistle with no smells at all. I never use the economy washes.
