Hotpoint BD32 tripped & now the Main oven does not heat

The other day our integrated Hotpoint BD32 tripped the fuse box & now the Main oven does not heat up at all, but the top small grill/oven works ok?

Any ideas before I book an engineer at £50+Vat call out?

The fan element, this one, would be the most likely cause of it and, it’s easily checked with a multimeter.

hope you are right as it doesn’t look expensive. Don’t think this is something I can check myself, so a callout sounds like a definate then.

you were right, and I got it replaced. now one side of the grill has gone!

any idea what I would need to replace?

Hi,

It should have two of these elements fitted to it forming the grill.

looks very similar, hopefully its easy to fit as it took the last guy 5 mins to fit that replacement fan. you think its easy?

Yeah, those elements are very straightforward to replace normally.
