    Hi,

    Our 5 year old dishwasher a Hotpoint BF41’s door springs have gone as the door is now very heavy. Is this something that is easy to replace yourself and if so how do I do it and where can I get the parts or should I get a professional in?

    The door cables will have failed – a known weak spot on these machines. P/no 1801632 for a pair, email to spares@ukwhitegoods.co.uk for prices and ordering.

    Fitting involves removing the side panels and fighting a large powerful spring. I usually wear oven gloves…………

    Have ordered the part, many thanks for your help. Will make sure I wear a box and will let you know how I get on (with the repair not the box).
