ParticipantHello all, great website. Was wondering if anyone could offer advice.
We had our integrated dishwasher installed in a new kitchen 4yrs ago. After only a couple of months E1 came up. To cut a long story short the engineers came out to this fault over the next few months half a dozen times before finally sorting the problem, after which the door was a little tight opening & closing but the fault dissappeared.
12months down the line E3 has arrived. Engineer came out & said the wires had been severed through the door hinge & there was nothing he could do only offer me a consessional price for a replacement of £369 😯
I rang customer services to complain as i believe its been caused by the numerous amounts of time the door has been on & off. All i got off this woman was, “its 4yrs old what do you expect & thats why you should have taken out an extended warranty”
I want to speak to someone in management but all she said was theres no one here!! Does anyone have contact details for some one in charge at Hotpoint / Indesit
Am i being unreasonable or should i pursue it.
What are your thoughts?
Thanks

Personally, I’d find my local independent and ask him to splice some fresh wire through the door for you. It’ll probably come to less than £89.99 as well 😀 .
Click the repairs@ link below for a UKW engineer in your area.

You don’t need a loom. You get the broken section chopped out above and below the pivot point, and a new length spliced in. The Indesit chappie is probably not allowed to do this as part of company policy.
I’m off to do one of these, this very afternoon 😀 .
