ParticipantHi all, sorry to bring this type of machine up again, I have read a few threads about them. My machine doesn’t produce any heat and the eco lights flashes. This indicates that it’s either the PCB or heating element, from what I’ve read. I’ve checked the element, 27 ohms across the terminals, no short to earth, so I thought it’s not the element. I just thought I’d run through a cycle anyway with the covers off. When I checked I was still getting 240 Vac at the element when the machine was operating. I expected no voltage to show there, if the PCB was faulty my thinking was it wouldn’t allow voltage down to the element, which was why it didn’t heat. As there is voltage, it should heat if it’s ok. Is there anything else I can check?
Many thanks in advance for any advice.

The eco light flashing indicates a heater timeout. This could be a heater circuit fault or possibly an NTC fault.
The NTC may have come adrift inside the door or have a faulty circuit.
The chances are that it is still the PCB that is faulty, however there is absolutely no need whatsoever to ‘live’ test. 😯
As you will no doubt inform me that you have electrical experience I assume you will know about neutral switching. 😉

So what you are saying is that it’s the neutral that is switched, which is something I wanted cleared up. I did the live test after checking the heater, at start of the cleaning cycle 0 Vac showed, which led me to believe it was the PCB. Only when I checked again did it show 240 Vac, which bamboozled me a bit.
I’ll go and order a PCB after checking what a NTC is.
Cheers,
Mike.

The NTC is the temperature control device, on this machine it is hard wired to the PCB and does not come as a separate part. It clips into a small bracket on the inside of the door.
You will need to check the full serial number as there are at least two different PCB’s.
Be careful of the inner door edges if you do open it up, they are razor sharp.
