My dishwasher now leaks soapy foam out of the front door.
I assume that the door seal requires to be replaced.
The black seal was all sticky and crumbly and I assume that this is where it is getting out.

However I was under the impression that the seal was more of a splash guard rather than an actual seal.

We use these power ball tablets and I don’t know if this is causing the seal to decay too quick, its less than a year since we got hotpoint to replace it.

On another note , is the seal easy to replace , I am going to give it a go myself this time.

    Is their a guide anywhere.

Hi, no need for a new seal, you are right that it is only a splash guard, your problem is the powerball tablets, they are too strong (especially if you are in a soft water area), the excess detergent is causing the foam, when the correct dosage of detergent is used the machine will produce no foam, there are loads of posts on here about the problems of using these tablets

Run the machine on a few short cycles with nothing in it and the excess detergent will soon go, then switch to using basic tablets,

    Thanks for that .

I still need to replace the small black seal that runs along the bottom of the door, it is coming loose in some places.
I’ll ditch the power ball tablets and go back to basics .

I don’t think its the 3 sided door seal that i need it this small black one at the bottom of the door.

I’ve been looking about and I cant find the right one anywhere.
It doesn’t look as if its crimped as in some others i’ve seen I think I could take off the door cover quite easily and strip it insert a new seal but hey what do I know..

Is it replaceable or do I need to get a new door.

    Hi

Lower door seal is part of the inner door panel.
